Seed and fertilizer have been a part of the products available to Champaign Landmark customers since our beginning in 1934. Now decades later, our Agronomy Department includes dry and liquid fertilizers, chemicals, seeds, custom application using GPS, turf and specialty products and all related services and equipment. From 1985 through 1992 we saw our greatest growth period in our agronomy department when six agronomy locations joined the Champaign Landmark family bringing us to a total of nine branches. These nine branches currently offer a full line of agronomy products and services with three other branches handling a portion of our products and services. Also during that period we added Shur Grow Seeds as our in-house seed brand.

Mark Secor is our Agronomy Department Manager and oversees the management of the department from his office in Urbana. Mark joined us in the fall of 2003 as the agronomy manager. Mark’s agronomy services staff includes Terry House, Crop Advantage manager; Tim Rooney, seed sales manager; Dave Taylor, agronomist and Sue Redman, fertilizer coordinator.

Since Mark joined us, we have introduced our “Crop Advantage” program. The mission of this program is to be “Customer focused on utilization of technology to capture, store and analyze site specific data to provide sound agronomic solutions.” As production agriculture continues to experience rapid changes in how our growing crops are managed, the Crop Advantage program will provide our customers with the tools and resources to stay current on new technologies and practices.
