Brent Zimmerman is serving a four-year term on the Land O’Lakes Ag Leadership Council. Land O’Lakes, Inc. is a national farmer-owned food and agricultural cooperative with annual sales of more than $7 billion and does business in all 50 states and more than 50 countries. Champaign Landmark is a member of long standing of the cooperative.
Land O’Lakes has five ag regions and seven dairy regions in the United States. Each region is represented by a Leadership Council, ranging from 6-24 representatives on each council for a total of 157 council members.
At a meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana in December 2006, Brent was elected to his first term to the Ag Region Four Leadership Council for a four-year term. Ag Region Four is made up of 23 states in the eastern United States. Brent has been appointed to serve on the Credentials Committee.
Members serving on a Region Leadership Council perform the following functions:
- Represent Land O’Lakes members
- Serve as a communications link between members and Land O’Lakes
- Promote and communicate Land O’Lakes vision and mission to members
- Encourage grass roots involvement
- Support Land O’Lakes through purchases and use of products/ services
Brent has been a member of the Champaign Landmark Board of Directors since 1999 and has served as secretary since 2003. Brent is a fourth-generation farmer who currently row crops 1,050 acres of corn, soybeans and wheat. Brent and his wife, Angie, live near Mechanicsburg.
