From Champaign Landmark’s beginning in 1934, petroleum products have been a large part of the products we offer our farm, residential and commercial customers. Back then we offered gasoline for cars, trucks and tractors, fuel oil for heating and lubricants included grease and oil.

Today, over 70 years later, technology has made an enormous impact on the petroleum industry. We now call our petroleum department the “Energy” department. Over these 70 plus years, due to consumer demand and new products being introduced, such as diesel engines for large trucks and tractors and propane for heating and other home and recreational uses, we have continually restructured our product lines and services.

Propane growth…
Propane has grown rapidly as home owners recognize the heating comfort and economic advantages of it over the old standby, fuel oil when building or remodeling their homes. Farm operations also continue to be an area of growth for us as new livestock and poultry operations enter our service area. We also see more new grain bins and dryers added to farmsteads these days. And more commercial businesses have been added to our list of customers.

Alternative fuels…
Recently, as concerns for the environment increase and high fuel prices make us dig deeper into our pocketbooks, we again expanded our product line to offer Ethanol and Soy Biodiesel products made here in the United States. Renewable fuels are a wonderful match for Champaign Landmark. As a farmer cooperative, we provide farmers with the seeds, chemicals and fertilizers to grow the corn and soybeans used to manufacture Ethanol and Soy Biodiesel fuels. Each year we can see these crops grow into the fuels the tractors and combines use to harvest them.

Technology + Personnel = the Best Service…
As our business has grown with the demand for these products, we have added new equipment and remodeled our storage facilities and fuel plazas and invested in new delivery trucks with on-board computer technology and new service/installation vehicles. But a key expansion is in our personnel. We have the 11 finest drivers around. They are dedicated not only to Champaign Landmark, but to their customers. Their years of experience range from 2 to 37 years in the energy industry. Our experienced drivers are great mentors for our newer drivers who are looking to invest their futures with Champaign Landmark.
